The Society of Urban Poets

The Society of Urban Poets, Inc.

SOUP OF THE MONTH

The acronym SOUP was adopted because it suggests a variety of tastes
and textures tastefully mixed together and ending up as a savory dish
that can be appreciated by all.
SOUP is good food all year íround, not just on a cold winterís day!
Some of SOUPís goals are to promote poetic expression
without the use of profanity, and to establish an outlet
for poets to display their works and share their talents and art
with the community and public at large.

The organization supports local poets in writing, performing and publishing their original poetry.

FEATURED POET
Mr. Alvin C. Love

MY LIFE

My life is not like a big flat rock
That never moves out of its spot.

It is more like a fast windmill
That hardly ever stands still.

But it is more like a rolling stone
for I am always up, out and gone?

Or it may be like riding a roller coaster, with all of its ups and downs
That takes me all around in and out of town.

For my life is more like a vapor here
And in Process of time it will disappear.

So if you look for me and can't find me anywhere
You can rest assured that I am at Heaven up there.
